Job Description:

This is a 6 month contract opportunity

This position will provide deployment of desktop & notebook PCs as part of our hardware lifecycle management program - Desktop 2012 Upgrade. Also, this position will be a key resource for providing desktop support on the office relocation project.

Responsibilities includes:
  • Moderate unpacking / moving of equipment
  • Assist in planning, scheduling and coordinating end users for upgrade
  • Configure and install operating system and corporate applications
  • Assist end users during their acceptance testing (QAs)
  • Troubleshoot incidents (primarily in relation to PC upgrades)
  • Deployment and setup of new PCs to workstations
  • Prepare off-lease PCs for return (e.g. wiping HD data)
  • Work in conjunction with the Service Desk in reviewing deployment issues (i.e. Incidents)
  • Provide desk-side support
  • Could include other work duties assigned by Team Leader

Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary degree in Computing / Information Technology, or working toward degree / diploma in related fields
  • Effective communication skills with end-users verbally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner when in contact with end users
  • Working knowledge of client hardware technologies (e.g. Desktop, Notebook, Docking Station, Printer, Scanner, etc)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft client technologies specific to the installation and maintenance of the OS and application integration . Must be a team player, and ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Some OT and evening work may be required
