Responsibilities:

1) Defines project or projects’ mandate and scope, lists the Infrastructure activities and identifies key players, roles and responsibilities for the activities to be effected in concert with the project sponsor and key stakeholders.

2) Develops and maintains project plans identifying deliverables, estimates the duration of tasks and overall project, determines costs and resources required, and assigns resources to the appropriate tasks while employing MS-Project management.

3) Manages and co-ordinates, in a direct or matrix management mode, the activities of a multidisciplinary team. Communicates effectively to the direct team and to the senior team on a regular basis and in a clear concise manner.

4) Ensures project activities are tracked, documented and communicated to the management team with regular reports and pre-defined scorecards as determined by the project sponsor.

5) Escalates risks or issues as required, appropriately and in a timely fashion.

6) Manages issues and risks, project interdependencies, and sets priorities with the sponsor and other key stakeholders.

7) Ensures that budgets are respected within the timeframes established while delivering within scope and quality established upfront for the project.

8) Interfaces to the Project Sponsor / Key stake holder and the overall Project Manager and provide timely updates and project status.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor in computer Science or Engineering, possessing 15 years’ experience in information technology

- Minimum of 10 years as a PM, with at least 7 years as an Infrastructure PM

- Proven strong leadership and a proven track record of excellent client interface skills

- Strong organizational and excellent communication and negotiation skills;

- PMI certified (asset) or with proven track record with excellent understanding of PMI principles

- Demonstrated experience and very good knowledge of budget tracking and cost management

- Demonstrated successes leading ‘large’ projects teams and matrix teams

- Ability to provide concise, accurate updates to the project sponsors and other PM’s.

- Good general IT technical knowledge, proven ability to work with IT technical experts

- Knowledge in the following technical areas of Office and Windows rollouts; IBM UNIX (AIX) and INTEL servers, SAN (IBM, Hitachi or both), Oracle and DB2 DB’s, WebMethods and WebSphere would be an asset

- Experience in leading large complex projects with multiple phases, releases and several streams with overlapping deliverable projects where some teams are remotely located (asset)
